Pictures!!!

We took Caden for 21 month pictures last month.  Well, we finally picked them up today.  I LOVE our photographer.  Caden was in fine form on this particular day, but she stuck with it and got some great shots.  We have never been unhappy with a session she has done and she is always so good with Caden.  If anyone is looking for a studio photographer in Springfield I highly recommend Amy at Sears.  Here are just a couple of my favorites.

Blessed

We are so blessed to have Mrs. Catherine teaching and caring for Caden. He has a lot of fun and does some really neat activities. Caden really struggles when we leave him, unless we're leaving him at Mrs. Catherine's. Here are some great pics she's shared with us recently.

Potty Time

We have officially started potty training. Caden has been showing more interest lately and it really increased this weekend. Now Dana and I are ready too. We've got pull-ups, underwear, stickers, and special treats. Here's Caden's first sticker.

These Feet

When did these little feet get so big? We took Caden to get new shoes this weekend. I picked a number of options from the toddler section and then had Caden's feet measured since it had been awhile since we had purchased shoes. He's a size 8. My baby boy can no longer get shoes from the toddler section. At 20 months we have to shop in the preschool section. This was ridiculously hard for me. Fortunately they still had some cute shoes in the big boy sizes. :)

Waiting

Caden and Dana waiting on our follow-up meeting with the surgeon. Everything looked good.

I never thought I would let my kid play with these type of public toys (germs), but hands are washable and Caden is entertained. :)

Thoughtful

Dana's so thoughtful. He brought me these lovely flowers yesterday to celebrate no more classes. Flowers make me smile. :)

Love this....

I love these guys and I love watching them together. After helping my sister move things into her new apartment we came home to cool off and enjoy a special treat. Believe it or not, I do let Caden have sugar-free Popsicles sometimes. :).

Class of 2010

Sassy graduated from beginners class at PetSmart this evening. She did great and passed with flying colors. It was actually a pretty fun "ceremony." All of the dogs got bowls of puppy ice cream, a special toy, and a certificate of achievement.

Sassy after passing her test.

Sassy enjoying some celebration ice cream.

Outside

Caden loves being outside. We spent good deal of time there this weekend and this evening. He especially enjoyed the pool his friend Josh brought him.

PaPa's Tires

Today Caden and I went to one of those radio station events at a local business. They were having a prize wheel with some special manly prizes for Father's Day. We didn't win a big prize, but we won a free CD (that we actually like). Caden also got to see a Monster Truck. We were pleased to see they were Good Year tires like PaPa makes.

Run, Caden! Run!

Caden and I did a 5K for fun this weekend. It's an annual Springfield event and it's a fundraiser for the St. Jude's Children's Miracle Network. We finished and thanks to Uncle David, Uncle Greg, and an anonymous donor (Daddy), Caden raised $50.00 to help the kids.
We didn't get any good pictures, but it was a good time. Caden got a tatoo, balloon, and tried a snow cone without the syrup (ie. ice).
Don't worry, he was happier than he looks in these photos. :)

Before the race. The sun was in our eyes.

Snackin' in the stroller.

What is that stranger doing with Mommy's phone and why does she keep saying "cheese?"

It's a girl!!!

Not a baby girl, but a girl dog. Sassy is the newest addition to our family and an early birthday present from my mom. We went to look at puppies just for fun on Saturday. Caden really likes our friend's dog so we thought he would enjoy this. Dana and I had discussed getting a dog, but hadn't been able to agree on a breed. I prefered a poodle mix for allergy reasons. Dana prefered a large dog that didn't look like a poodle. As you can see, Dana won. Doesn't seem right for my birthday present. :). Anyway, we didn't want a loud, hyper dog and we wanted it to be young, but already house and crate trained. Sassy fit the bill to a T. I don't know who loves her more, Dana or Caden.

More Applesauce, Please!!!

Caden really likes his applesauce. The pictures speak for themselves.

P.S. - Dana and I don't eat like
this so I'm not sure where this is coming from . :)

Happy Saturday

We had the best day today! Caden and I started the day with some very early shopping. After breakfast we loaded up and went to the pet store to visit the puppies. We were fans of a little guy named Puggy. After a tasty lunch of BBQ we spent the afternoon outside. Caden even helped us with some yard work. :). It was a great day!

Caden has turned into quite the little climber. The other day while Dana and I were in the dining room Caden went around the corner in the living room. I told Dana that I had a quarter that Caden was on the couch....as you can see, I should be a quarter richer. Sure enough Caden had climbed right up on the couch. He wasn't jumping or rolling around though. He was just sitting there nice as can be holding the television remote.

Sunshine Days

The weather the last few days has been amazing. You can't beat a day with sunshine. I'll probably feel
differently in the heat of July, but right now I love it. The gloomy weather was starting to get to people.

With the better weather comes time outside. Dana and I try to get Caden out any time it's nice enough. With a nice, fenced backyard he run (his version of running) around and have a good old time.

Today Mrs. Catherine took the boys to the park. It looks like he had a great time. While I wish I could have been there too, I'm just going to be greatful that Caden has a teacher/caregiver who does fun things with him.

Messy Face!

Caden is back at Ms. Catherine's after a two week stay with mom dad.  While we loved seeing him all day, every day, I'm pretty sure he missed his friends.  We was having a big ol' time chatting it up with them when I picked him up last night.  I think we may need to purchase Ms. Catherine ear plugs.  He was so excited he just kept getting louder and louder.  :)  Anyways....enjoy his email.

Hi mom!

We are eating lunch and I wanted to show you my messy face. I thought you would like it. I'm going to take a nap after Mrs. Catherine cleans me up. I hope you are having a great day at work.

Love you!
Caden
