Socialization

We've recently experienced the "benefits" of a child having an opportunity to socialize with other kids. On the way home from dinner tonight Dana was teasing me so I told him to stop being a b-u-t-t (I spelled it, I didn't say it...I know, real mature.). All of a sudden Caden started saying "butt face" from the back seat. I promise you we have not said this word around him (I'm not sure of the last time we used the word...maybe when we were 10). I'm definately not a candidate for Mother of the Year, but I try to be a good example. It really hit home the importance of parenting. Who knows what all our kids will hear on any given day. There are many good things Caden has learned from others as well. Socialization has helped him with his motor and verbal skills and I'm pretty sure he only eats fruits and veggies around other kids. :)

The joys of parenting! :)

I LOVE this story. And truly can't wait to see how you scrap it. It will be one of those stories you'll be telling when Caden is in his 20's. :) He really is brilliant to put your spelling and that word together -- not the ideal thing for him to be learning to spell, but brilliant nonetheless and funny!

Ok so I'm going to admitt I did laugh when I read what he said... I can't imagine him saying that!! :) I'm surprised Dana didn't wreck the car from laughter!!! :) I do agree with you... it's so important to be that example for our boys. I was reminded of this again today. He is always listening, watching, and using me as his example. Parenting is SO hard...thank goodness we don't have to go at it alone!! Love you friend!
